Robert “Bob” Monroe

Bob is Robert Monroe, the author whose out-of-body accounts and audio experiments are at the center of this archive. His three books describe his own experiences; interviews let you hear how he explained them to other people.

In the 1983 CBC interview, Monroe recounts unexpected sensations, his attempts to find an explanation, and the experience of seeming to observe his body from elsewhere. The Explorer recordings show another part of his work: asking participants to describe what they perceive.
