Robert A. Monroe Sunday Night INSCOM RAPT GATEWAY Talk 1984-01 (Transcript) NOTE: This is a raw transcript – it is exactly as created by otter.ai. Bob Monroe 00:00 Again notice what I'm wearing there's a certain thing that you must get to eventually when your son starts wearing your clothes this gives you the prerogative to begin at this phase a way worse is when my son sees that the same shoe size 00:32 I eventually sort of just prove your polarity Bob Monroe 00:48 all sorts of oh well there's some things I can speak from $5 And there's one thing certain about dollars I don't find it necessarily 1.5 girls but certainly the new males is one thing that certainly a little girl and a little baby is feeling from the first breath right first and the first thing she the first nail in her life is the big strong male figure called Daddy that's a magic way to get away from you got a two year old daughter when she's 22 she's still coming to say certain very very special rule that firstly male plays sorry but it is very very significant if when you have the count of five when you can see the replication that same skill creative process they marry have children and all that comes up with that daddy plays a very special role by sit down you're sitting down better you so I'll sit down and y'all hear me back in the corners. They'll come hear me then we're in shape after yesterday, I don't know where to take you ladies and gents, I guess I was most interested in catching the news tonight in part two said the stock market went 14 points. Historically, when the AFC wins, the stock market goes down when NFC wins the stock market goes up that kind of ridiculous thing did the game work alright up here Bob Monroe 03:22 me Yeah. That's my son's name. It's yours your T ri. Anyway. The net result is that that's the first time we've ever succumb to such pressure. And it occurred to us carry about when the game if you were a Redskin fan got very disappointing and you felt you didn't want to see anymore. What were we doing with the ones who didn't like particularly to watch a football game? And we had a beautiful film we could have one called Gandhi and Gandhi. It's it's kind of an interesting one simply because of the fact that apparently that historians didn't get some of the small details. And in one part, I thought was very good. Where the wife where he had gone to get taken a vow of chastity at one point in theory was at so who was how many years old and his wife sitting beside him kind of crunched over. This report as his wife says, as he maintain this vow of chastity all his life. She looks at him says Not yet. So Bob Monroe 05:05 anyway. I think that you're probably at the stage now where if there are any particular subjects or areas that you would like to bring up that I either can't answer, I will try. One of the Surefire guarantees is that I can always make the statement that if I don't know something I don't know. And there's so much we don't know. All we know is, you can probably gather, but it's time that this chemistry process does certain things. And I would assume that you have at least had some impression that and it is not a sledgehammer type unit, say such as paying somebody for their heels or something like that. That is very, very subtle. And this is the key thing is that it is subtle, it is not a thing that you use with massive blows your messenger effects. In other words, if you don't want to go to sleep, you will not be put to sleep by him. Resistance is strictly and countless, I guess not a catalyst would be the best way to describe. One of the things that does show very much on EEG is that that coherent brain in its in and of itself is showing a very high amplitude coherency. And what that signal means is, we don't know yet. In other words, by implication, and I suspect one day, we will begin to fully understand. And perhaps this does occur a lot in daily life. If I'm getting repetitions, tell me because I don't think, for example, under extreme moments where people perform what appear to be, which are feats that they cannot do otherwise, it may well be that this coherent brain action is taking place. For example, car is resting on a boy's body and the mother rushes out and lifts the car shows the baby something that she never been to any other nonstress circumstances, this coherence may take place quite possible. But how can you measure that 10 second moment as it were, when that coherence takes place. We had one man come in any comes in about once a year, I don't think he's been in the last eight months. So we must expect him. But he can go in a booth and say you want to check in. We can feed him a signal. And he can multiply one eight digit number by another eight digit number like that outside without MSAP cannot do it. And he comes back each year to be sure he can still do it. Given the numbers, so maybe make 10 runs. And he's 100%. That's all I mean, outwardly. There's no other fact that you can do it again. I don't think he can get focused in it. But you can do 08:47 it. How did you discover that you could do Bob Monroe 08:49 that? Oh, he was he was he's a businessman as matter of fact, as soon as lawyer knows. And he just happened to be visiting one time and with a group of other businessmen and he was the one selected to go into booth and see action and see what it's all about. And we haven't that was one of the standard things that we did at that time. And he just rattle it off and we try to go 15 times he would automatically go even he didn't give him the chance to calculate was the important part. He was not given an opportunity to merely form the calculation. He was a meat answer, just like that. And he doesn't know how I can do it and without being in the MSA mode. In other words, without being fed these menorah signals, he has difficulty multiplying something about 12 times 12 which he learned in Greece. So it those of those that's a type of analogy that does exist in this play with over the years. So we do not know many ways to apply it, we just have some foods. And that's one of the curves in terms of the learning process. And from that, incidentally, we did develop sort of a mathematical frequency where mathematical calculation seems to be improved by that particular frequency. Why brain mapping does not seem to bring out that we haven't done enough on that one to indicate where this may be taking place more intensively in the two hemispheres. But it's that kind of thing that gets fascinated and we get this book because you can spend a long time sorting out and trying to find most effective frequencies for most particular things most particularly meditation. Alright, I get a question. Yes, the 10:54 process is dichotic signal two different that's called one day cheer as a beat frequency. Indeed, it is it is effective. Number one is important as to which tone comes in which year, Bob Monroe 11:11 it depends on the on the given exercise, in most of them, it makes no difference whatsoever. But where we are working heavily with Rev a left brain type of setup, we in turn have a tendency to detune the right brain guy. Conversely, we do the same thing. So then what is indicated left ear or right here is what that means that we have a different type a differential signal specifically for the right ear. And that is occurring and is not on a hemispheric base, but is on a frequency following response base. So there is a difference. And that is the reason why some are generally speaking, once you get past these, the early requisites where we do use our right left ear very intensively, once you get above focus 10, then we more or less abandoned that because it's not needed at that time. But we get a lot of fun. We try it. We do a lot, but we don't use it in these educational modes. But to detune totally the right brain or the totally the left brain is quite an experience. Some people can, for example, you can detune the left brain and they can't talk, they just simply because the speech center being in the left brain and you have deep tuned to this, 12:33 this is just by changing the frequency relationship between the two brain Bob Monroe 12:37 not this is not a hemisphere process. This is feeding that differential in the in the left ear or right here as needed. 12:45 I guess I understand what you mean by feeding the differential. Well, Bob Monroe 12:49 in other words, it becomes a vibrato when you hear it and as you put them second open air, it becomes a wavering overbroad at a given frequency that vibrato unwavering is a given frequency. For example, if you take the headphones, you will hear as Oh, once you put it in, on your head, actually, you are synthesizing that four hertz, which you cannot physically hear physically hearing it the differential. Is that wavering? Is it four Hertz. That's what we put him on here all by itself. 13:21 That was my second question is that on some of the later tapes that we've heard, I heard the Hemi sync and the and the difference frequency. And when I took one headphone off, I could still hear it in the other that could well be there were there were already mixed hearing Bob Monroe 13:39 that could well be depending upon where you are and what we also do what we call a panning, and we panorama panning that false panning over to one side or the other. And you may have encountered that, because there's a really interesting thing that you discovered when you do that in that and panning procedure, there's a blank out spot is almost like a neural shift. Let's say if you're spatially thinking that and you hear it in this year, and you're moving over here, to the panning Oh, right here, right at almost a 30 degree angle. It's as if the ear decides is coming from there instead of here and just a blackout you feel pressure in your ears. This takes place if you owed at that one thing is almost a decision point in your in your sound processing that but to hear it more over here than here. I'm going to hear it over in the right ear in addition to the very odd sensation, 14:41 who would get some demonstrations like that or isn't there? Bob Monroe 14:44 I doubt that there's time there's too much you all have to do in other areas, which you will. 14:52 One day we'll get to play with. There are a lot of different types of demonstrations. As I spoke about the tuning in right aspirators between the right brain, there's a, for example, if you need to, and the right brain has a great sense of loss to the left brain, it doesn't know what it is. You feel it, part of you has died or something strange. Bob Monroe 15:14 And you feel that there's a cap this way, in the way you think. It often shows up in the way you ask, Well describe how a person looks. And if you did to the right brain, it's very, awfully hard to do that. To describe, I'd have great difficulty describing you, if I had my right brain, the spatial part of it very much due to unsafe. And I couldn't, I could see what I couldn't describe. There's a lot of stuff to be done in that area. Right brain. A lot of our earlier processing has to do with D tuning in parts of my brain. That's why that electrode right here stuff from the beginning, because we all are so much left brain orientated, we know to begin with, get that balance we attempt to be to, 16:12 and what if it was Bob Monroe 16:13 real fun, sometimes switch them where you have, the two people do happen, do this. In other words, they don't follow right ear process, and they get the left brain signals crossed over. And it actually some funny things. Funny, meaning I feel irritated makes me angry. Because you're processing with right brain signals into the left and the right. The turning of the left right brain
