The Gateway Experience album Voyager covers service to others and the states associated with the afterlife, Focus 23 through 27, according to its publisher. Its exercises include guided work with people who have died, guiding them to a reception center, and opportunities to send and receive messages. The publisher states that the album is based on the Monroe Institute's Lifeline program. The residential week adds trainers, a group, and a full daily schedule of morning, afternoon and evening exercises. Robert Monroe: “Anyway, it's from that, and researching that, and also with the areas of people who I knew had already died, we set up a program called Lifeline … which in essence is one to, in turn, help [you] get totally familiar with the process of moving from Focus 23, which is right after physical death, up to what we call Focus 27.” (Art Bell, Dr. Robert Monroe & Skip Atwater - Out of Body Experience - Black Screen - Interview Only, 2025-07-15) Robert Monroe: “Lifeline is [an] exploration into these other energy systems beyond physical death, and in our exploration we found … what looked like a park that had been created by human minds in some era prior to our recorded history, which is a place where humans after they die can go and [recreate] long enough to decide what they want to do next. And it is not a [religiously] based thing at all. It's simply a place of rest and recuperation.” (Bob Monroe on Visiting the Afterlife)

A.J. Honeycutt: “It also helped him sort of develop a constructive place, such that there might be a place where he could meet up with Nancy, my mother, after [her] transition. So he wanted to be able to create a new plateau for Gateway voyagers, if you will, and he also wanted to be able to create an environment to where people could go and consider the thought that they have access to other energy systems and other beings that aren't part of this physical life system.” (A.J. Honeycutt Q&A on Bob Monroe and Focus 21-27, 2019-01-07) Skip Atwater: “Bob drew this paradigm of a realm beyond Lifeline from his own experiences, from talking with other people, from the near-death experiencers in the reports, to this general overview and concept of some sort of a welcoming area. And Bob called it a park or a reception center.” (2002 Professional Seminar: The Application of Hemi-Sync® in a Medical Setting (Skip Atwater) — 2002 Professional Seminar- The Application of Hemi-Sync® in a Medical Setting (Skip Atwater) (Transcript).pdf, 2002) Nancy McMoneagle: “There are some that perhaps die and don't know they're dead, or they get stuck in a certain state, and in Lifeline people learn how to get into different states and then help those people in transition who haven't been able to quite free themselves up, to help them move forward.” (#16 - Nancy "Scooter" McMoneagle of the Monroe Institute, 2016-02-09)

“My mother’s death led me to focus deeply and personally on the dying process. “Coincidentally,” I had preregistered nearly a year before for The Monroe Institute’s Lifeline program. As a result, I took this training just a few months after Mom’s death, learning how to help those who had left the physical find their way to a parklike “reception center” in Focus 27.” (Hemi-Sync® Journal 1994-4 (Fall) — 3 Body Wisdom in the Presence of Death.pdf, 1994) Bruce Moen: “In a normal, natural dying process, that's a retrieval. It's [a] situation in which someone from that side, someone from this afterlife area who lives there [and] maybe knows you, will come to you and get your attention so that they can communicate with you, and then offer to assist you in going to wherever you'd like to go, or to a better place to see what that's like.” (Bruce Moen Interview from 2010 - Exploring the Afterlife and beyond, 2024-05-03) “Culminating in a retrieval of a part of my-Self constrained in Focus 23. With this new insight into the nature of my makeup, many older limiting questions about my life and about life in general began to dissolve within the process of transcending and including—leaving me with a feeling of connection to Higher Self Purpose, a healing of the self.” (Hemi-Sync® Journal 2002-4 (Fall) — 1 Hemi-Sync® Journal 2002-4 Fall.pdf, 2002) These are reports, not verified facts
