focus, 10 1215, so forth. But this is a review of what the academic community understands
about altered states of consciousness, and they're not going to talk in focus levels, they're
going to talk in a dissociated state of consciousness, where we can define this state by
brainwaves, you can actually look at the brainwaves going on with somebody and say, Oh,
look, there's a dissociated state of consciousness happening there. And what you're gonna
see is an increased amplitude of slow wave activity or delta activity. In a normal waking state,
that's usually relatively low amplitude. So you're gonna see an increased amplitude or slow
wave activity, you're going to see an increase to synchrony between the hemispheres and
regions of the brain, in the slow wave activity. And you're going to see the suppression of what
we call resting state alpha. When we, the vast majority of us when we lay down, close our
eyes, and we have no concerns in the world. The backs of our heads just radiate alpha,
tremendous notes, before we drift off to sleep or anything else. That's called resting state
alpha. And it's the it's important to kind of talk about this little bit as we go on. Because when
you lay down in the check units next door, in your turn on your ready light, we hope you're
actually turning off the ready light in the back of your head. Obviously, we've constructed the
tapes in the sounds on the tapes, to take your brain wave state and move it from this position
over to another position. And since this is a live system, we have to know where your brain is
to begin with, in order to move it from this point over to this point. And so the plan is the way
we make all the tapes is that they're starting in the resting state Alpha position. And I'll show
you some experiments about how the tapes affect people differently. Why might you not be in
resting state after a while, you might have had 27,000 cups of coffee or you might have
stubbed your toe as you climbed into the check unit. Or you might have just had a big
argument with somebody you might be moving around and flailing around that would cause
you not to be in resting state alpha. So as the tape started, you wouldn't get the same effect as
someone who was in resting state alpha. This is what your brainwaves might look like in a
dissociated state. And as we watch, this is the brain map of that. As we watch these live, you
can watch in real time when the computer is these come and go. You can see people drift into
this and then come back out and they might drift in for three, four or five seconds and drop out
Either they might drift in for 30 seconds and then drop back out again. Or they might stay there
a long time. So when you see these begin to happen in brainwaves, she know that they're
moving into a dissociated state of consciousness. Now, moving into a transcendent state of
consciousness, it seems as though you must first obtain a dissociated state of consciousness.
And then from that point, step up, as it were, to a transcendent state of consciousness, it
seems to be a process that you had to move through. Like in the Monroe system, moving from
focuses 10 and 12, up to focuses 15 and 21. Now what how do you define a transit
transcendence? Again, I'm not going to go through 251 different definitions of the Tibetans, but
I'm just going to talk in general terms about these two things. First of all, there's a loss of
personal ego identity. When people talk about these experiences. In a dissociative dream, I
might say, Well, I'm me and I had a dream about Julian Ross the other day, and I was in
England and Joe was doing this and Ross was doing this and this is what was happening and I
was over here. If you notice, remind description I'm talking about I'm me in jail is jail and the
rest is rest. And there's still this ego identity, which is still involved in in a dissociative State
experience. When you move into transcendence, there's a peripheral. A peripheral. Yes, it's
that there's a whole lot of verbiage about, there's a whole lot of verbiage about a oneness or a
weakness, or a group did I do that is a oneness or a weakness or a group? I was part of a
group when I was there, I understood everything. It was all clear to me always one. And when
we hear that kind of verbiage coming out, we know that the person has been through a
transcendent state of experience, not simply a dissociative state of experience. Another
characteristic of this is that I'm giving you the illustration right now. It's inapplicable. It's as
though you can't quite explain it. When people come to the Gateway voyage. And on it
Thursday morning, when they are Tuesday night or Thursday morning, when they have their
first focus 21 tape, they come downstairs into the room and the white carpet down there. And
you say, Well, how was it? And they say, Oh, it was really great. It was just he was and then
he really had to be there. Yeah, it was really good. They said, Well, what did what was it?
Like? What didn't you do? And you said, Well, you know, we went through the steps, and I got
the 15. And then I went through the colors. And when I got into 21, then I turned to my right,
and there was this big white. And then it was an over here, there's the and it was really great.
It's very difficult to reduce down to mere little words, the totality of the hugeness of this
experience. It's like having a stereo and you disconnect one of the speakers of your stereo and
it no longer fills the room the way it used to. It's a very difficult thing to put into words. It is
though it were blasphemous to reduce the totality of this wonderful experience down to words.
We try not to use religious terms here. But there's a little joke that goes along with this part of
my discussion.

A dissociative State experience is kind of like Halloween, in a transcendent state of experience
is kind of like Easter. Okay. That's the kind of difference between these two things that people
experience. I want to take a little bit of pause here to kind of explain my own personal
experience here. When I began to channel after going into the booth several times. This voice
that came from me became very personal to me, and it was this very intimate thing for me. And
I would watch other people who channeled have audiences like this and people out of the
audience would ask in the voice would answer them. And that seemed all very invasive to me
and in blasphemous, and this was my personal thing. And yes, I could ask questions and his
voice would come back and it would answer me, but this was very personal to me. So Tina, my
mentor at the time suggested that I be asking the voice about these feelings that I was having
in my heart about sharing this very personal thing. And so I phrased the question very carefully
to the voice saying, I'm experiencing interesting phenomena here, I really enjoy being able to
share with you and talk with you and get information from you. But I've noticed that
occasionally with other channelers, that people come and ask questions that there are other
people who ask questions of you, and you're able to answer them. And that doesn't seem right
to me, because I don't understand how that could be. And I waited for an answer and waiting
for an answer, and there was no answer. And so I restated the question again. And I said,
Okay, here's the situation. You see, I'm asking you questions, and you answer them. And I
think that's really neat. But what if an other person was to ask you a question? How could you
possibly answer them? I mean, you're in me. And I said, the answer and voice came out then
and said, We don't understand the question. So well, at least I got something that you
answered. So I restated the question very carefully, saying, Okay, listen, here I am, I'm
skipping, I'm asking you a question. And you come back, and you speak to me, and we record
it. And it's wonderful. And I very feel very close to you. And thank you very much. Now, this if I
was in with some other people, what about Joe? What about this other person if they were to
ask a question? When others came and asked you a question, how could you possibly answer
them? In the voice came back and said, What is an other? So in this transcendent world, this
energy that was speaking through me didn't understand the concept of Jill ask a question. This
energy thought that it was coming from the same place as if I asked a question, you'd had no
discernment about what we think we think of each other as others. But from the level of this
energy, it didn't think there were others. It didn't know what others were. So I got very humbled
about that experience. You can see a transcendent state of experience in brainwaves as well.
Remembering first that you have to move through a dissociative State experience, you'd have
to first have this high amplitude slow wave activity and the synchrony that slow wave activity
and the resting state Alpha Go away. Regional gamma activity begins to develop regional
gamma activity that high frequency brainwaves, but very focused in this particular region,
sometimes over one temporal, sometimes over both temples. Sometimes in the frontal,
sometimes in the occipital, it seems to depend upon the personality character of the individual
having the experience and the type of experience that someone is having. With this duel
pattern here, over the temples. In Ghana, I've seen that a lot with healers, in brain mapping
healers, they seem to develop this. Now, my personal theory about this is this happens with
healers because there's an empathy involved and empathetic connection. This shows regions
of the brain below the cortex, getting stimulated here, this is normally very quiet portion of the
cortex. But down underneath the cortex, when there are other regions of the brain that are
stimulated, it radiates out here. And this is connected with feeling outside of psychic
phenomena and people will connect this with a feeling kind of thing. And so I think with
healers, this is an empathetic signature. It's like they're really getting into empathy with what's
going on. But that's kind of my own personal feeling. I haven't done any kind of studies about
that. I'm just kind of reviewing with you again about what do we know about dissociative and
transcendent states of experience and brainwaves? So the next question becomes, does Hemi
sync, create these same brainwave states? Can we use the Hemi sync process to create
dissociative and transcendent states of consciousness and use them in many, many, many
different tools and in your own professions out there? So I'm gonna talk about the ongoing
research that we do to develop frequencies to put on tapes. This is not a to show that what we
do works this is the actual on the ground what we do to develop frequencies to put on tapes.
We use volunteer subjects they might be one of you. They might be college students, they
might be people passing through the Institute, we try to use equal amount of men and women
And also we tried to scatter the professions around it as though we were making sure we
tested Myers Briggs different types in there. We use people also that are Hemi sync, familiar
Hemi sync, adapt, and people that are naive that haven't had exposure to Hemi sync before.
And we use what we call an ABA research protocol. We don't use a double blind kind of a
system, we use an ABA research protocol, which means that we record someone's brainwaves
without any stimulus at all. And then we give them some stimulus. And then we record those
brainwaves. And then we take away the stimulus. And we record their brainwaves again. Now,
the reason you do that is the inference is that well, how do you know the brainwaves wouldn't
have changed anyways. So that's why you make a recording afterwards in once you begin to
build up your number of subjects, the inference begins to develop that, if it seems to be
