2000 Professional Seminar: Beyond Focus 27-Wellsprings of Creativity (Richard Werling & Susan Taylor) (Transcript) NOTE: This is a raw transcript – it is exactly as created by otter.ai. 00:02 Professional members. So thank you very much, Dorothy. I'd like to introduce our next two speakers who are going to double chain this topic, Susan Taylor, and Jacqueline. And think it'd be appropriate to say a little bit about what inspired this collaboration. We're working with both Jake and Susan on the dolphin energy club. And Susan and I were an exploration 27 together. And I've been working with Dick for a long time in the dolphin energy club, the remote healing group, and are some more folks who I believe are awesome dolphin energy club. And Duke has really delved into the healing aspects of the higher focus levels intensively and about midway through the lecture focused 84 of the group exploration 27. Beyond exploration, 27 has stayed in communication with the regular ones to focus 35 and have done some healing work on their own, and says, I'm on the list. And I sort of check in on what's happening. Sometimes I don't get to read everything. And I opened up a message one morning and there was one from Susan about this personal vision she had gotten of the energetics of focus 35. And so I downloaded this attachment and looked at it and I went read. And it just felt like it would yeah, here we are talking about the nuts and bolts of research and very practical day to day clinical applications of uni Psych. But I thought a nice balance would be to have two people here who were working in those outer, higher focus levels, however you want to look at it, and specifically concentrating and creativity and healing. So that's what Susan and Nick are going to talk to us about tonight. And I think Susan has first up. 02:18 First of all, I'm just working. Okay, I can't tell from up here. Like that. I'm really happy that so many of you do statistics, because I can't. 02:33 And it's really nice when I need validation, or when I'm talking about things concerning the Institute. I'm trying to convince people that I can draw upon the statistics that that you folks do when I need to. I am extremely right brained. My whole body is left, I walk around in circles if I don't watch it, because I'm so left legged. When I smile on the side of my face goes up. And I can't imagine how I could ever do statistics. However, when I'm going to show you this, my students work, I think subjectively you will see what the statistics would say. And I want to talk really about two things tonight. Access and focus 35. And when I say 35 I mean 3435. But that's a mouthful. I use it, the access there for two purposes. I use it in my own artwork. And I use it with my students problem solving how to deal with getting this ideas across to the students, as Pete said earlier, to get them to see the quarter as an oval instead of a circle. So this is kind of a funny question for you. Oops, I hit the wrong one. 04:00 Do this I'm a Macintosh person. 04:07 This is a strange question to be asking this group spent a lot of time trying to analyze all this stuff. And again being so late brain that just didn't work. And I like to just think of it as magic focused in in five when I was in the explorations 27 program. I was all excited. And I'm going to kind of walk a fine line here because I know you have not experienced it yet. And I don't want to give the cat out of the bag. And yet I do want to talk about a little bit so if I seem to be holding things back, it's just because I want you to be surprised when when you do the program. But almost all excited. I got to drive across country and about half the participants in the pool More personal friends from previous programs. So I felt very, very comfortable. After having done so many programs, I feel very, very comfortable when I'm here. All slugging my check unit. It's, it's like climbing back into the room as far as security. And it was a real treat. And my first encounter in focus 35, I was met by a couple of I don't know what to call them entities. And it's a real testament to why a lot of the higher focus level tips don't go out of here. Because head I encountered these two entities. And when I encounter bear, outside of the security of being in my check unit, and being amongst friends and trainers that are trusted, or would have been terrified, I would have missed a really valuable experience. Because I felt so secure here, I was open to it. And everything was just so alien. And I made a couple of friends. I call them Heckle and Jeckle. Because I'm totally irrelevant. They don't seem to mind. But they were always on everyone to 30 fiber, they're rooting for me. And they're playful, and they're gentle. And they immediately played a long road game with me with me as a log. And it was like, almost like I was as foreign to them as they were to me. And over the period of time that we we did tapes a whimper we get to know each other. And then the last one, I was a little sad because you get this anxiety, I don't care how many programs you've done, can I do this at home? Am I going to be able to encounter them again, when I'm at home outside of the situation. And as we're coming down, or just before we came down, one of them made a request to merge with me. They've never been physical. And very, very curious about what physical is like. And I trusted them or allowed it. It was an incredible experience. And also was coming down and feeling the sadness, I got this impression that I was going to be given a gift. And yeah, like wait a man physical form is going to give me a gift as an income UPS or FedEx. So it kind of played out in my mind. And I love to I went down to kill in a beach with my folks live to visit them while I was out here. And I was standing in the bathroom. Just kind of combing my hair in the mirror. And there was a strange spot on the mirror. It was like the grass was distorted right there. And it was kind of unusual, because my dad's return is always puts him around and he certainly wouldn't let this mirror be distorted replace it. So I asked him about it, no. Respond, he was looking in the same mirror, we didn't see the spot, this ripple effect is going to fit across. And as I moved, I noticed it moved him in there with me. And then I started looking around and every place I went, this circle was in front of me. And it was kind of like looking through shallow class distortion that you get. It stayed about a foot in diameter. And I played with it. And once I was aware of it. I watch watched it and I found that if I got very, very much into the physical 08:44 it would shrink down. And when I got very, very relaxed, it would get bigger. 08:53 And I came to discover this was like, almost like an opening into 35. And this obviously was a gift I was given. And when I started thinking about it, it's a little scary. I mean, I gotta function, I got to stand in front of teachers, I got to deal with administrators, you know, I can't just kind of drop out and there's this thing in front of my field of vision over time. Also realize that I could go through it, but they could also communicate with me for me understand through this and I get these bizarre questions. The alarm clock would go off. What's that? You know what, I can't? I can't explain to him I gotta get to work. What do you mean we gotta get to work. I remember I was in my classroom and teachers. We don't have your phones. We have these intercoms. We have fans. We might order pizza or something. I don't know they don't trust us with real phones. If you notice, there's a stain that comes over the school booming voice Susan Taylor pick At the grateful movies, you're supposed to pick up the intercom. What's that? Well, how do you explain an intercom to something that's never been physical? And it's really interesting because one day I overslept. And the alarm clock, I shut it off, but I rolled over about 10 minutes later, there's this booming voice in my head, Susan Taylor pick up a great phone. So understood the connection there you know, I have to function. And this, I mean, would pop up at the most unusual times. And I'm thinking how do you get this thing back? How do you return a non physical gift I didn't have the non physical receipt. To take back to the reader I was getting worked up about this. And then I got what a word is, but I assume it's a wrote, you know, it was just this football, this this message that came in a package of unconditional trust. And with that came some a flood of memories from my childhood. And this whole thing came full circle to me. This little guy circle and Jericho, behind this word window that I carry around in front of me now. I knew them as a child, or something like them as a child, I don't know if it was their names were typically in Jekyll back then. But they were around when I was a child. And I understood unconditional trust. That's what I had back then. And I was very fortunate. I made some very good decisions before I came here this time, particularly in parents. My parents at a very young age moved to us out in the middle of nowhere southern Indiana and until several years later, I was really the only kid 12:30 and so my friends were the animals my best friend buddy and free talked for the night used to have great conversations and I don't mean just one sided conversations. Okay. 12:50 Trees, I could talk to trees. Trees had a lot to say these this is what kept me company these were my playmates. As a child there was no one else around 13:07 walks they talk a little slow but they talk and somewhere in growing up I lost all that became a teenager my parents moved to a larger town Greenwood, Indiana, which by coordinates coincidence are several people here from Greenwood, Indiana. And I became a teenager, Adrian and coming out of the sticks I didn't really fit in at first I didn't know what to wear. You know, you didn't worry about what you were back in the woods. But all of a sudden these things became considerations. And I adapted and I forgot. Interestingly enough, though, as I go back through old pictures, rocks, were still there. Now that I know what I'm looking for, I've got all these pictures with rocks with faces in them. And I don't know if they were trying to tell me something. And I was just unaware, but I lost it all. And I had a moment teenage period of my life. Kind of man and I dropped out of high school. But other than that it was normal. raised a couple of cents. And didn't start college until I was in my late 20s Because I felt I needed to be home with my boys until they started school. And then when I started college I don't know why I became an art major. I don't know why I became a teacher except that I am a teacher. That's how I identify myself. And it's one of the things I do very well. Unfortunately, that's what I chose or was led to choose. But as an art major, I'd never had any art classes never done in drawing and here I am in college and I didn't Have a standard things I learned how to draw. But what I wanted to put down on paper to project outward were ideas. A very soon got bored with doing lifelike representations of things. I mean, I learned how to draw. And I could do it. But it was boring. I mean, why am I doing this, I could take a camera and do this. And what I wanted to I was at that point, I discovered philosophy. Eastern thought, was all very exciting all these new ideas I'd never heard of. And things were churning around in my head. And I wanted to make them visual, and I couldn't do it. And I really struggled him. And really brave him showing me some really bad work. But just to show you how I struggled. And I couldn't get
