[2828.7-2837.6] In any event, you have to also understand that for some reason, as yet, I cannot specifically [2837.6-2845.0] say the why of it, this human consciousness that has been nurturing for all these not [2845.0-2850.1] just thousands, but apparently millions of years, is a very special type of consciousness. [2850.3-2856.8] And because of that, all of the other types of intelligent systems are looking at this [2856.8-2864.3] with almost the possibility of the birth of a new kind of baby, as it were, a new type [2864.3-2870.2] of consciousness that apparently has a very, very broad interest. [2870.2-2878.2] And in just geological terms or physical terms, at times space terms, is totally inadequate, [2878.2-2879.2] as I understand it. [2879.2-2887.1] This change will follow that old Chinese ideograph that it is a crisis, and within crisis, as [2887.1-2890.0] the Chinese indicate, are two characteristics. [2890.0-2893.6] One is danger and the other is opportunity. [2893.6-2903.0] And that is what I understand human consciousness faces in the coming years, this being the [2903.0-2906.2] product of this energy change. [2906.2-2912.5] Indeed, it's great danger, but it is also a great opportunity, and that man has that [2912.5-2919.0] opportunity to make a quantum jump in his consciousness and how he looks upon it and [2919.0-2920.7] how he uses it. [2920.7-2927.6] And this is why this great gathering to appear and understand this and to see if it will [2927.6-2928.6] take place. [2928.6-2933.8] I think most people would intuit that the change that has to take place is an increase [2933.8-2937.4] in love in the world or in man's consciousness. [2937.4-2943.8] But how does the average guy in the street go about getting in on this change of consciousness? [2943.8-2947.9] Is there anything that the listener out there would do right now to shift his consciousness [2947.9-2952.0] to be in tune with what should be happening in the world? [2952.0-2958.1] I don't have truly an appropriate answer simply because of the fact that there are so many [2958.1-2961.0] different ways that this can take place. [2961.0-2968.8] I think you'd probably have to start if you can properly define for me, Hanes, when you [2968.8-2973.5] say love, what do you mean by love? [2973.5-2977.0] Consideration of your neighbor, the second great commandment, love your neighbor as [2977.0-2978.0] yourself. [2978.0-2983.4] If that philosophy took over the world, that whatever consciousness chef needed to occur [2983.4-2985.9] would occur. [2985.9-2994.7] But how can…you have to give me a more definitive statement than that, than love your neighbor [2994.7-2997.2] as yourself. [2997.2-2999.9] But what do I mean by love myself? [3000.5-3003.1] I think that's something we all have a big difficulty with. [3003.1-3005.1] That's what I'm trying to get at. [3005.1-3016.3] Maybe not the way I treat myself, but treat you according to the Golden Rule, treat you with, I guess, the doctrine of a hymn so do no harm as best you can. [3016.3-3032.7] That therein I think is the most profound part of it is we give love, we label many things as love or many emotions and many other types of action on our part. [3032.7-3037.3] We label as love, but what are we really saying? What really is love? [3037.3-3041.3] Non-interference in a way. [3041.3-3051.8] Let's take, for example, one gives one's physical life so that another may live. [3051.8-3054.8] Is that love? Is that an expression of love? [3054.8-3061.8] It might be an expression of egoism. See how great I am. I do it in this for you. You owe me something now. See you next lifetime. [3061.8-3062.8] Absolutely. [3062.8-3069.2] Therein is the greatest and most significant thing from my point of view. [3069.2-3092.2] Let's take this thing that you call love because you're on the track from this point of view of what the man out there who is totally unexposed to any processes and recognize that he may well be doing something that indeed does represent growth as a whole. [3092.2-3102.8] Growth as it were in a direction that will make him easily handle this type, this shift in consciousness and ride with that wave of change as it were. [3102.8-3110.8] But you have to, from our point of view, it helps a huge amount to know what you're doing. [3110.8-3119.2] We wallow in that particular belief that it helps to know and in a way it does. [3119.2-3122.6] Now how do we know? [3122.6-3126.0] I don't know. Is the answer aware? [3126.0-3131.0] Don't feel slightly bewildered because we're all bewildered. [3131.0-3150.5] Because the first thing that, again, this is my own perception, may not be valid, is that this consciousness in the one that we are working with at this particular moment can only dimly perceive that reality that we sometimes call love. [3150.9-3156.5] And maybe we only rarely experience it. We may experience a reflection of it or something. [3156.5-3171.6] But how do we get to that hook, that ladder that will let us, or that rocket ship, as it were, that will let us zoom into this other consciousness? [3171.6-3180.6] I think that it is, again, a question of alteration of one's belief system into a no system and what you know. [3180.6-3185.6] Then you can, in turn, begin to act in a different way and be in a different way. [3185.6-3196.8] Well, I think we've signed off the show lots of times, saying when the power of love overcomes the love of power, there'll be peace. But it's difficult. [3196.8-3201.6] That's a very nice way to put it, of course. [3201.6-3209.6] Well, it's been awfully nice. I have the greatest gratitude to you, overwhelming gratitude for the program that you put on here. [3209.6-3213.6] And I think that all of us would say thank you with all our hearts. [3213.6-3229.7] James, I appreciate it. It's not a ... you merely joined 6,000 plus others who are spread throughout the world who have come and who have been here and have, in turn, found something of value to take home with them. [3229.7-3232.7] Well, thank you again, Bob and Roe, for being our guest. [3232.7-3245.7] It's been a pleasure, Hanes, and I would certainly appreciate hearing from some of your various listeners who might have heard this and might have had an initial spontaneous out-of-body experience. [3245.7-3250.7] We'd like to hear from you, because that will simply add to our ever-growing database. [3250.7-3251.7] How can they get hold of you? [3251.7-3262.1] You can reach me, Robert Monroe, at Faber, Virginia, FSN Frank, A, BSN Boy, Virginia, 22938. [3262.1-3264.1] I'd like to hear from you. Thank you again. [3264.1-3265.1] Thank you, Bob.
